YDN Learning Communities - Training
YDN trainings are all about creating learning communities. A learning community is a “place in which participants feel cared about and are encouraged to care about each other. They experience a sense of being valued and respected; everyone matters and can express themselves freely. They have come to think in the plural; they feel connected to each other; they are part of an ‘us.’”
Learning opportunities provide individuals, organization staff and members of the community with skills relevant to implementing youth development principles, group facilitation methods, project based learning, conflict mediation, peer programs, advocacy, youth leadership and engagement strategies, planning and evaluation target youth and adult audiences.
